About Us

Welcome to Het Westen which features our Studio Jewelry design collection as well as selected pieces of Vintage Jewelry and American Indian Decorative Arts which we find inspirational. We are designers who love the landscape and Native American cultures of the Southwest. We've enjoyed collecting the work of artists of this region and have used all these, as well as our long careers as architects & designers in other fields, as inspiration for our own Studio Jewelry designs.

Our eye has also been drawn to the work of the Mexican silversmiths of the 1930s through 1950s, working in Taxco and Mexico City, including artists like Antonio Pineda, Hector Aguilar, Hubert Harmon, William Spratling and Margot de Taxco. Their work has a modern sensibility while still retaining a handmade quality.
