Hector Aguilar Circle and Lozenge sterling silver and azure malachite bracelet

Item #4298

This is a pretty rare piece by Hector Aguilar. Judging by the design, I'd say it was made in the early 1940's after he left Spratling's employ. It's fabrication is pretty complex - all the link pieces on the back would have made it a very time consuming piece to produce, which is probably why not many were made. It has a very forceful appearance, using interlocking geometrical shapes in a very interesting way.

I especially like the way he curved the bottoms of the silver pieces so when the piece is worn, it works well with the lozenge shape of the azure malachite.
